Anete Grīnberga & Kristiāna Švābe-Putāne
13/03 - 29/03/2025
Longing for a space of peace and rest, artists Anete Grīnberga and Kristiāna Švābe-Putāne embark on a symbolic journey into dreamstate through their works, seeking answers to the over-saturated reality of the waking world. Through a direct encounter with the Creator through the subconscious, they depict symbols from their experiences, woven into the likeness of a reverie. In this space, both artists have created and invite visitors to encounter a sanctuary for those indoctrinated by sanatoriums, offering refuge from the overproduced absurdity, uncontrollable propaganda, and the curse of perpetual consumerism.
The artists meet in a shared understanding of the modern individual's struggle within a self-complicated system. The main goal of the exhibition is to begin a healing process, to bring forth the paradigm of primacy, and to fully liberate oneself from material and etheric programs.
The artists are convinced that, by meeting at the zero point, one can become a part of true existence and observe everything from an outer perspective.
Kristiāna Švābe-Putāne has a bachelor's degree in Art Academy of Latvia’s Movement. Image. Sound department, and right now she is continuing her studies in a master's program in Visual Communication. She has participated in the group exhibitions “Academia” (2019), “Točka” (2020) and “Memory” (2022) with the serial installation work “Memory about memory about memory”. Švābe's works combine deep introspection and conceptual forms to highlight the subtlest nuances of human experience. Her works reflect irony, absurd humor and a depth of emotional directness that invites the viewer to ask questions about their place in time and space.
