Space creation happens all the time, just unevenly. Song Name is a collaboration between three artists from the Czech Republic, Latvia, and Spain. Fueled by an intricate fascination with material and its functionality, the work unfolds into an ongoing conversation between the artists and the space of DOM gallery, a reciprocal activation via physical labor.
Kristers Krūms is a Latvian interdisciplinary artist whose practice explores the intersection of conceptual inquiry and material contingency. His work investigates the traces of memory embedded in found objects and the relationship between their physical presence and the narratives they might hold – both documented and imagined. Guided by intuitive responses to the environment and a sensitivity to chance, Kristers allows materials to determine their own relationships, flowing fluidly across installation, sound, performance, and sculpture. Through these shifting forms, he constructs new meanings from the layered encounters between objects, spaces, and histories.
Hugo Choy, the Spanish curator and artist explores the act of personal development and interaction through live music, installations and exhibitions. Born in 2004, in Madrid, and grown from Peruvian origins his main object of observation has always been the personal search of community through music and interaction with the environment. He has co-founded UN MUNDO DE OCIO, the local art and music research media, directing, interviewing and writing. Choy is also the initiator and co-founder of JJARDIN, a creative event production company that is nurturing the conceptual development of live music. The main focus of it is the design of sets and installations operating as the main character to interact with, for both the artists and the public.
Ondřej Doskočil is a visual artist and musician. His work is closely linked to the open platform Shelter of Trust, which he co-founded. Shelter of trust is new culture based on the principles of the manifesto Growling as a Form of Language (2019). The main intentions are common performance, music, sound and visual art or interaction of a combination of all of these aspects. In his work, Ondřej combines his practice as a musician and artist seeking a way to survive in a normalized and capitalized world. Through fragments of musical instruments and tools, he creates a world that is slowly falling apart and ceasing to function.
