"X" is before the signature: x founded the structure, x found the space, x made furniture for it, x ordered equipment and stationery, x comes every day to perform a specific function - to tidy up, to meet in the waiting room, to sit at the table in a pre-ventilated office and perform direct duties.
"X" is a refrain: to boss, subordinate, colleague, competitor, manager, deputy, secretary, specialist, consultant, clerk, IT specialist, sanitary.
“X” is in the gray area. "X" is crashed.
A cooperative role-playing game that doesn't overload the semiotic servers and invites everyone to find their own "X". Play with or against, upward, downward and sideways, as a beginner or an expert. Appearance only in someone else's shoes.
Liene Rumpe (1996, Riga) received a master's degree in painting (Art Academy of Latvia, 2022) for the installation "Exercises of the Ninja Painter". For this work, she received the BDO Young Artist Award in 2022. Rumpe participates in exhibitions, projects and is one of the co-founders of the artist-run space DOM. Rumpe's artworks are characterized by questioning the cause of collective ideas, configurations of visual logic, strategies of spatial structures and their disclosure with the help of conceptual characters.
Viktorija Balašova (1995) received a master's degree in painting (Art Academy of Latvia, 2023). In her most recent works, she has studied forensics, criminology and behaviorism, aiming to talk about the dark depths of the human mind. Victoria uses painting as a filter where she reveals acute discomfort through scientific reasoning and detail.
