Megasistēma
09/12-31/12/2023
"With the meaningless sign associated with the meaningless sound, we have established the form and meaning of Western man."
Marshall McLuhan, The Gutenberg Galaxy
Residents of the real, digital, and fictional worlds enter the bar. They speak their own upside-down language, fixate on material and immaterial objects, finishing each other's sentences here with a sound, here a sign, here a gesture. For others, this communication will be revealed through the artifacts found and the collected writings of this communicative experience.
The art collective Megasistēma will live the peculiarities of Riga's youth cultural environment and reflect them in an installation in the gallery premises. The zine is also created in this way, as a complementary herald of the form, which will include the expressions of the authors of the exhibition in various techniques.
Megasistēma (Emīlija Didžus, Kristers Krūms, Sofija Frančeska Putniņa, Marija Vinķele, Rūdolfs Kuncītis, regejs, Valters V., Dāvis Bikšus)is a collective of young visual artists and musicians who seek and radiate light and airiness among musical devices and systems. The association deals with the organization of music and art events, highlighting its specific visual identity as an important attribute. The Megasistēma was jointly created by the 83rd Carnival of the Latvian Academy of Arts "MEGASYSTEMS Stages", as well as the "flesh world rising" exhibition, within the framework of which the AI-inspired design workshop "I<3WORKSHOP" took place.
