“Location" is a point from which to draw connections between what is here and what is layered in experience. It builds and demolishes structures where the apparently static reveals itself as a phase of movement. The search for relationships can lead to revelation and the discovery of a new self, but it can distort the very idea of the search, leaving the foundation underfoot as the only reliable quantity.
The space is created and inhabited by animated, sculptural and light elements.
Ieva Viese-Vigula works in audiovisual art research and education (she is a guest lecturer at RISEBA), curates and maintains exhibitions at the DOM gallery, participates in individual and group projects as an artist in Latvia and Estonia. She got her MA in Latvian Academy of Culture, then a BA in Art Academy of Latvia (graduated from “Movement. Image. Sound” faculty). Currently studying for a MA at POST.
